Food is indispensable to our survival. But today, it is undergoing great change. Currently, Japan only produces about 40% of the food it consumes. This is the lowest among all major developed nations. Japan, as the world's largest net food importer, will engage in all possible efforts to contribute to stabilization of demand and supply of food in the world market through increasing its own food self-sufficiency rate.
